QLD: Rain causes havoc in south east of the state

BRISBANE, Feb 8 AAP - For the second time in a week widespread heavy rain over
south-eastern Queensland has closed roads, stranded motorists, eroded beaches and sparked
flood warnings.

The rain expected to continue for several more days.

It has severely affected an area from Maryborough south to the Queensland-New South Wales
border, with police warning motorists to avoid trying to drive through flooded sections of
road.

It also forced the abandonment of the historic women's day-night international cricket
match at the Gabba …
