Qld:Redcliffe honours dead Bee Gee with video tribute
The city of Redcliffe, north of Brisbane, will honour one of its favourite sons todaywith a video tribute to MAURICE GIBB.
The former Bee Gee, who played keyboard and bass, died in Miami on January 12 aftersuffering a heart attack during an operation to remove an intestinal blockage.
Redcliffe Mayor ALAN BOULTON says the City Council will pay tribute to 53-year-oldMAURICE, who grew up in Redcliffe in the 1950s, singing with his twin ROBIN and olderbrother BARRY, 56.
The two-hour free event will feature video interviews with a number of people who recallthe Bee Gees' early performances, along with songs from the television show Bandstand.
The tribute will be held at the Redcliffe Cultural Centre.
It will also projected on a huge screen set up in front of the Redcliffe AdministrationCentre in Irene Street.
