STATE NOT PROPER VENUE FOR LAWSUIT.(Business)

A subsidiary of the Lawrence Group Inc. will have to pursue its accounting malpractice case against Price Waterhouse outside the state of New York.

Supreme Court Judge Paul E. Cheesman ruled that New York was not the proper venue for Adapt Inc., a subsidiary of the Schenectady- based

Lawrence group of insurance companies and agencies, to prosecute its suit against Price Waterhouse, one of the nation's largest accounting firms.

Adapt had charged Price Waterhouse with malpractice in the auditing procedures performed on the records of Adapt Insurance, a non- wholly-owned subsidiary of Adapt.
